EILC - Erasmus Intensive Language Courses
The course provides a unique opportunity for experiencing Danish culture and lifestyle and at the same time it gives the students a chance to meet and work with both fellow students from a variety of European countries and Danish students.

The programme consists of two equally important parts:

  • a Language Course
  • a Cultural Programme (Social and Cultural programme)

Language Course
The aim of the language course is to provide students with sufficient language skills to communicate with fellow students and to manage everyday life in Denmark during their stay in the country. The focus of the course will be on active language usage. Listening and reading comprehension as well as oral and written production will be given the highest priority. Pronunciation and grammar lessons will also be included. The course will be conducted as a combination of teacher-directed and learner-centered activities, i.e. communicative games, role plays, audio- and video-based exercises.

Moreover, students are offered practice lessons with Danish students in order to ensure integration with Danish students. The maximum number of participants in a class will be 15. Some homework will be required.

Cultural Progamme
Besides the Danish culture components integrated in the lessons, a number of social and cultural events will be arranged. The activities will mostly take place in the afternoons. Lectures will be given on, among other things, Danish culture and lifestyle. Selected examples from contemporary Danish filmmaking will be shown.

Furthermore, a number of field trips will be arranged such as a guided tour of the town, visits to some of the most famous museums and sites of natural beauty.

ECTS credits:
6.5 ECTS

Course Certificate:
A course certificate will be issued to students who have participated in at least 80% of the total programme, meaning 80 % of the language course programme and 80% of the cultural and social programme.

Attendance
Attendance to the course is mandatory, and it is important that the students are present on the first day of the course. This is important as a lot of important practical information about the course will be given to students on this day. Besides, the fact that the course is an intensive course means that students will proceed fast.

Course Teachers

The course teachers will be presented in the course programme which will be available at a later date.
