The vision of VIA Research and Development is to contribute to VIA’s long-term strategic ambition to become a research-based University College. VIA’s ambition is to challenge the role of the traditional educational institution in order to implement the knowledge producing perspective in our educational programmes.
VIA aims to clarify that knowledge development, knowledge circulation, collaboration between professions and change within professional practice are main goals.
VIA works with research and development in various forms from specific developmental activities to strategic research programmes in collaboration with universities.
One of the special trademarks of VIA’s educational programmes is the close collaboration with the market of interested parties, the needs and challenges which the companies and the areas of profession must fulfill and manage.
VIA’s profile on the educational and research platform must therefore also be based on the needs of the market of interested parties as well as the needs of the professions, and thus involve both collaborators in user-based problem-solving.
