Work placement

Experience the working world

Doing a work placement is a great way to get first-hand work experience and to gain access to the best graduate jobs.
As it is a professional bachelor's degree programme, you are required to do a work placement in the seventh semester.  This will allow you to apply theory to real-world business tasks and also to practise a number of valuable skills such as communication, time and project management, innovation and teamwork.

Benefits

You will benefit from working in a real-life engineering environment, gaining professional experience of relevance to your future career as a Global Business Engineer. Yet another advantage is that it improves your employability skills, as work-readiness is of top priority to employers when they look for graduates to fill vacancies. Remember that the main reason for companies to recruit students is not only to bring extra skills to a specific project but, in particular, to get the chance to view you as a potential hire.

Where to go?

You may do the work placement in a company of your choice in Denmark or abroad. Recently, students have found placements in countries such as Germany, Sweden, England, Scotland, the USA, Australia and Brazil.

Duration and pay

The minimum period allowed for a work placement is 20 weeks of full-time work. Some work placements are salaried, but there is no obligation for the company to pay a salary. The average salary for work placements in Denmark is around DKK 12,000 (EUR 1,600) a month.
