Programme

The Programme Bachelor´s Degree in Global Nutrition and Health at VIA University College, Department of Nutrition and Health, Aarhus, is a 3½-year higher education programme leading to a professional bachelor degree.

The programme is taught in English and is a full-time course of study corresponding to 210 ECTS credits.

The academic year is divided into semesters. The programme consists of a basic year (two semesters) and two and a half years (five more semesters) of specialised studies in one of two fields: 

1. Public Health Nutrition and Food Policy

The aim is for students to become qualified to independently handle health-promoting and diseasepreventive
communicative, educational and management tasks in the development and implementation of nutrition and food policies in various sectors (e.g. schools, workplaces or institutions).

Employment possibilities: Project Manager, Health Promotion Consultant, Product Developer, Food Consultant, Nutritional Consultant and Consumer Advisor.

2. Lifestyle Coaching and Fitness Management

The aim is for students to become qualified to independently handle health-promoting, disease preventive
and motivational communicative, management and guidance tasks in relation to diet, physical activity and other health-related lifestyle factors.

Employment possibilities: Fitness Instructor, Health Consultant, Personal Trainer, Weight-loss Consultant, Project Manager, Stress Coach and Manager in the fitness and wellness industry.
