Our way of teaching

Our programme is designed to create a sound balance between theory and practice through a variety of teaching and study methods.

We believe that competences are best developed through active student-centered learning rather than more passive learning. With this in mind, we aim at developing your critical thinking as well as interpersonal skills, such as communication skills and the ability to work in multicultural teams. Active class participation and regular presentations are important elements in this learning process. As interaction and dialogue between lecturers and students are highly encouraged, the academic atmosphere may appear relaxed and informal to some international students.

Teaching is structured around class tutorials, class discussions, group work, course work assignments, lab exercises, workshop practice and project-based learning. Classes are small in order to allow group discussions and provide more individualised attention.

International approach
Our students come from a wide range of countries in and outside of Europe, which ensures a flourishing study environment.Through class sessions and project work as well as your time spent outside the school, you will gain valuable professional and cultural experience from the interaction between Danish and international students. Moreover, much project work will involve research into international markets.

Project work
Project work is a key element of our programme as it teaches you to take responsibility and to work independently, and in the end it prepares you well for a professional career. Projects carried out in multicultural teams will give you valuable experience in, for instance, time management, teamwork cooperation and problem solving.

Through specialised courses you will learn how to plan and manage projects. These skills will help you succeed when having to prepare inter-disciplinary projects involving technology, economics, language and culture.

Work placement
Global Business Engineering is a professional bachelor's degree programme. As it is a degree of applied science, you are required to do one semester of work placement either in Denmark or abroad. Most of our students go abroad to work for a company of their choice - in, for instance, Europe, South America or Australia.
