Introduction

The aim is to learn how to use animation as an educational tool

Are you studying to become a primary or secondary school teacher, pre-school & kindergarten teacher or special education teacher?

Who says you have to bury your head in thick books to learn – isolated from the world and fellow students?

You can also learn in a creative, exploring environment, working with practical animation techniques in small teams.

Animation is creating life – bringing objects to life – telling a story about the world we all are part of. It is fun, exciting and fascinating, and you will experience being absorbed in a world where time and place do not exist.

A former student describes it like this: ‘It is like being in Wonderland, and I want all children to have this experience’.

Theories of learning and didactics will be closely linked to two weeks' practice, where the students will carry out an experiment with the pedagogical possibilities of ‘Animation as a learning tool’.

We make every effort to give students an experience of Danish culture and traditions of learning. Field trips are arranged to introduce students to Danish history and culture – from the Stone Age via the Viking Age to today’s agriculture, fishing, industry and information enterprises.

You will also meet Danish students and families and gain insight into the everyday life of Danes.

A former student wrote: ‘In Viborg, I had the best days of my life. In this group, I found true friends, at this college with these teachers I found everything quite easy, there are so many practical things to do and I love it, learning by doing, I do believe in this method. I put all this experiences in my special bag, where I keep all my dearest memories, and I will always keep that bag with me – Viborg will always be on my mind’.

If you want to hear more about studies and life in Viborg, we will help with contact to students who have completed the module in 2008 and 2009.
