Possibilities for exchange students

Exchange students, who speak English, are welcome to conduct the following study elements at The Department of Social Work in Aarhus:

  • Course work in the third year course "Social Development Work", which is taught in English every spring semester (click here).
  • Project work (individual in-depth assignment on a subject of the student's own choice). The department provides academic support as well as the opportunity to meet other students. Our excellent library will, of course, also be at your disposal as will the open learning centre. If you choose to do project work, we will arrange your period of study in Aarhus according to your wishes and fields of interest. It is, therefore, of major importance that you describe your plans and hopes for your stay very carefully and in detail. Our aim is that you will gain a broad knowledge of your chosen field of study. This also includes visits to relevant social work agencies.

Exchange students, who speak Danish, Norwegian or Swedish, are welcome to conduct the following study elements:

  • Course work in any of the modules taught in Danish and/or
  • The "Social Development Work", which is taught in English every spring semester (click here)
  • Project work (like above)
  • Practice placement

Please see the ECTS Information Package for more details about academic possibilities. For general information on the curricula, please see The Social Work Programme (click here) and The International Social Work Programme (click here).
