Learning Outcome and Teaching Methods

The students will have:

  • gained theoretical understanding and practical skills in working with social pedagogy in a Danish and an international context.
  • gained a theoretical understanding of exclusion and inclusion and the significance of participation as an approach in care work and social pedagogy.
  • improved their understanding of society and cultural values and their influence on social pedagogical work and care work.
  • developed competences in planning and carrying out, documenting, analyzing and evaluating social pedagogical processes.
  • developed competencies in using creative subjects as a method in pedagogical work with children, youths and adults.
  • developed their professional and personal competences and identities as reflective practitioners.

Teaching Methods

  • The social pedagogical approach will be reflected in the learning methods. This means that teaching will be based on dialogue and participation.
  • The learning activities will be a variation of teaching, fieldwork, instruction, guidance, monitoring and training and will be organized as individual or group work.
  • The learning processes will be based mainly on problem-oriented project work.
  • The module requires student commitment and student participation in reflections and discussions as well as in written and oral presentations.
