The focal point of the activity of the School of Continuing Education is to offer relevant professional upgrading of skills on the highest potential level to as many people as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we have joined forces with different partners.
Research environments The school cooperates with a series of research environments to ensure that our teaching is always based on the most recent knowledge within the different fields. Our partners among other Danish universities are Aarhus University, Roskilde University Center, the Danish School of Education and Aalborg University. Our partner among other research institutions is the Danish Institute of Governmental Research (AKF) www.akf.dk. Our partner among foreign universities is the University of British Columbia at Vancouver, Canada.
Municipalities are collaboratorsA large part of our activities address the public labour market and thus municipalities and regions are important customers and partners. The cooperation means that we keep our finger on the pulse and stay updated with the professions' organisational and professional challenges.
Together we develop qualifying continuing education as well as new courses and institutional-based innovation work. At the moment we are cooperating with Central Denmark Region www.regionmidtjylland.dk and all municipalities in this region.
The trade unionsWe have a close cooperation with the trade unions concerning e.g. the development of programmes and new courses, Accreditation of Prior Experience and Learning, APEL, guidance and educational planning.
Other educational institutions The school cooperates with the other University Colleges in Denmark. Our partners are University College Lillebaelt www.ucl.dk, University College of Northern Denmark www.ucn.dk, University College Capital www.ucc.dk and Metropol University College.
VIA has signed agreements with several business academies. Our partners within this field are Aarhus Business College www.aabc.dk, the Academy of Professional Higher Education, the Danish Academy of Business and Technology Minerva www.hsminerva.dk.
The private business world We also fulfill the need for competency development in the private sector, and we have specific focus areas within innovation, construction and project management. We cooperate with both entrepreneurs, small companies and international groups. We continually form research and development networks with several of the country’s largest companies and we equally participate in large national initiatives, for example, concerning the competency development of employees in small and medium-sized companies. We also develop our services in cooperation with leading HR companies and, among others, we have a formalised cooperation with Mercuri Urval A/S.
