Faculty of Education and Social Studies

Faculty of Education and Social Studies offers five different Professional Bachelor Degrees. It has 720 employees and 9000 full time students at 15 different addresses. All our programmes train people who will attend to central tasks in the welfare society.

Connection between theory and practice
Learning the ability to connect theory and practice is of great importance in all our programmes. Therefore, theoretical work combined with practical training is highly prioritised. Internationalisation
The international aspect has high priority. To ensure an outstanding international standard, every department has International Coordinators and the Faculty comprises a central international function, the Faculty International Office. The primary tasks of this Faculty International Office are to:

• develop and partner in international research and development projects
• create Joint and Double Degree Programmes
• increase the number of programmes taught in English and ensure the quality
• create entire education programmes in English
• further develop the internationalisation of curricula
• increase the student and staff mobility and ensure the quality in this connection

Semesters taught in English
Currently, the faculty offers six semester courses in English which are customised for exchange students. Other courses in English are under development. The duration of the courses is 3-5 months and all of them combine theoretical and practical studies. Further information...
